I’m Grayson Carey, President, Co-Founder, and Co-Owner of Blue Moon Roofing & Gutters. I have more than 10 years of experience in the exterior home services industry and have helped over 5,000 homeowners throughout Portland, Oregon, and the surrounding communities.

In addition to Blue Moon Roofing & Gutters, I own See Clearly Window Cleaning, a premium exterior cleaning company specializing in roof and gutter cleaning, window cleaning, and pressure washing. Through years of maintaining and inspecting thousands of roofs, I’ve seen firsthand where roofing systems fail — poor ventilation, improper flashing, installation errors, nail pops, mold, and water damage — and how regular maintenance prevents most of it.

At Blue Moon, I oversee operations, inspect and quote projects, manage the sales process, support roof replacements, build our team, and make sure every customer has an outstanding experience. My strongest areas of expertise are roof inspections, roof replacement, roof repair, gutter replacement and repair, attic ventilation, leak diagnosis, and low-slope roofing.

Our inspection process includes a thorough evaluation of both the roof and attic, so homeowners get a complete and honest picture of their roofing system. We check ventilation, look for mold and moisture issues, identify damaged plywood and water staining, and calculate ventilation needs using the 1/150 rule for attic square footage and net free ventilation.

Blue Moon Roofing & Gutters is a GAF Certified contractor. We install complete GAF roofing systems that meet or exceed manufacturer standards, including using six nails per shingle. To me, “no shortcuts” means doing what’s right for the roof and the homeowner every time — even when the easier option would be faster or cheaper.

I started Blue Moon Roofing & Gutters because I saw a lack of integrity, reliability, quality, and customer care in the roofing industry. My goal is to give Portland-area homeowners a better option, and to build a company where great people can grow meaningful careers.

I treat every home as if it were my mom’s house. I want every homeowner to feel confident choosing Blue Moon, enjoy the process from the first call to the final walkthrough, and have the best experience they’ve ever had with a contractor.
